Teaspoon Zodiac sign Capricorn 925 silver gold-plated

Capricorn birthdays fall right in the middle of the Christmas season—and are often lost in the general bustle. This 925 sterling silver teaspoon offers something distinct to counter this: the Capricorn symbol gilded in the bowl, a fully gilded handle, and a niello ornament at the end of the handle, which gives the piece a quiet depth. Solid, clear, without unnecessary adornment—just like the character it represents.

Material and craftsmanship

The bowl features the Capricorn symbol—the horned animal, gilded and engraved, bordered by a thin line. The stem is fully gilded. At the end of the handle sits a niello ornament made of floral tendrils: the dark alloy is melted into the engraved lines and bonds firmly with the silver—durable and resistant to peeling. This niello hand-engraving belongs to the Veliky Ustyug tradition from Veliky Ustyug, documented since 1683.

Use and occasions

In everyday life, the spoon serves as tableware for coffee, tea, or small desserts. As a gift, it is suitable for birthdays between late December and mid-January—deliberately as a personal item that stands out from general Christmas gift-giving. It is also suitable for a milestone birthday, the turn of the year, or as recognition for someone with perseverance and a clear goal.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Since the bowl already bears the Capricorn symbol, there is no additional space available for a personal engraving. For an individual dedication, we offer the SilberVerse card: a personally designed card in 15 × 10 cm landscape format, tailored to the occasion and the recipient—free of charge and fully tailored to the occasion. It is included with the item and carries the message for which the spoon itself no longer has space.

Care

Rinse by hand, wipe dry, and store in a dry place. Use silver polish only on the gold-plated surfaces, not on the niello ornament. With regular, careful maintenance, the gold-black contrast will remain clearly visible for years.

Frequently asked questions

What is the meaning of the Capricorn symbol on the spoon?
The Capricorn sign represents discipline, endurance, and long-term ambition—qualities of the earth element to which Capricorn is assigned. On this teaspoon, the symbol is gilded and engraved into the bowl.

Is the spoon suitable as a birthday gift around the holidays?
Yes. Capricorns have birthdays between December 22 and January 19—a time when a distinct, personal gift stands out in particular.

What distinguishes niello from a gold-plated engraving?
Niello is a black metal alloy that is permanently melted into engraved recesses. Gold-plated surfaces are polished silver with a gold coating. Both techniques together create the characteristic contrast of this spoon.
