Material and workmanship

The Ketty is crafted entirely from solid 925 sterling silver. The wide, flower-like scalloped bowl sits on a slender, turned baluster stem and a round base – at this height of approximately 14.5 cm, the proportions appear particularly elegantly elongated. The surface is polished to a high gloss throughout, allowing light to refract in the scalloped facets of the bowl and turning the form itself into an ornament. The Ketty is made by Zaramella in Italy as a bespoke item – produced upon order, not taken from stock.

Usage and occasions

In this largest version, the Ketty is particularly suitable as a central element for a festive table: filled with fruit, chocolates, or pastries as a centerpiece, or placed empty as a polished sculptural object on a sideboard. When combined with smaller Ketty sizes, silver vases, or candelabras, you can create a multi-level table centerpiece. As a gift, this large stemmed bowl is perfect for weddings, milestone anniversaries, housewarmings, or as a prestigious corporate gift.

Care

Clean the bowl by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish soap, then dry it thoroughly. Avoid silver immersion baths and abrasive cleaners, as these will damage the high-gloss polish. A soft silver polishing cloth is sufficient to remove light tarnish and refresh the shine of the scalloped bowl. Store the Ketty in a dry place and, if possible, without direct contact with other silver items to prevent scratches.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this size particularly suitable for large tables?

At approximately 14.5 cm in height, the Ketty has enough presence to remain visible even alongside multiple place settings, candles, and other silverware. It acts as a focal point in its own right, not just as an accessory.

Yes. The Ketty is available in several heights, allowing you to create a tiered arrangement, for example, using one large centerpiece bowl with two smaller versions.

Is the stemmed bowl intended for daily use?

It is primarily designed for special occasions and the festive table – as an heirloom-quality gift that you bring out for special moments over the years.
