Material and craftsmanship
The carafe is crafted from 925 sterling silver and finished with gilding — the slender, upward-tapering amphora body features a circumferential band of floral niello ornaments on both the neck and the belly, with the flowers highlighted in gold. The tapered lid with ring knob and the base are also gold-plated, so that silver and gold alternate across the entire form. The niello design is hand-engraved and then filled with dark niello paste — not paint, not a print, but a permanent inlay in the metal that gives the floral bands their depth.
Usage and occasions
With 420 ml, this carafe is intended for more intimate gatherings — as a serving piece for water, juice, or wine on a festively set table, where the gold accent unfolds its full effect against white linen and cut glass. Its character makes it a suitable gift for special occasions: for a wedding, an anniversary, or for anyone who wishes to enrich their dining culture with an elegant detail.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Individual engraving is possible upon review. Upon request, we will include a personalized SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm, landscape) — digitally customized to suit the occasion and free of charge. Each card is unique.
Care
Clean by hand with mild dish soap; do not put in the dishwasher. Do not scrub the gold-plated and niello surfaces — a soft cloth is sufficient for everyday use. Use silver polish only on the undecorated silver surfaces to protect the gilding. Dry immediately after rinsing.
Frequently asked questions
Does the carafe affect the taste?
No, 925 sterling silver and the gilding do not affect the taste.
How does this carafe differ from models without gilding?
The gilding on the lid, base, and floral bands adds a warm gold accent, while the rest of the body remains in polished silver. Those looking for a carafe without any gilding can find niello silver models in the Tableware & Silverware collection.
Can I have the carafe personalized?
Yes, individual engraving is possible upon review. It is best to contact us before ordering to coordinate placement and motif.
