925 sterling silver tarnishes over time — this is normal and reversible. For engraved pieces: use a soft cotton cloth, occasionally a mild silver polishing cloth, never a dishwasher, never abrasive cleaners. Niello blackening is deeply melted into the line and cannot be removed by normal care. For children's cutlery and cups that are used regularly: rinse lukewarm after each use, dry softly — this keeps the engraving sharp. For longer storage: use anti-tarnish film or a sealed cloth bag.
