Description
Description
A baby gift set made of 925 silver with a teddy bear motif for a son: a child's cup with a 3D bear relief and a bow tie as a boy's identifier, and a DoDo tactile baby spoon with a gilded bear attachment and orange guilloché enamel, plus four colored learning dots on the handle (red/yellow/green/blue). This version is the Premium Tier of the boy-bear DoDo series — same cup as the pure silver version (SW11087), but with a gilded spoon and learning tool concept. From the ArgentA manufacture, delivered in the original gray and white DoDo gift box with a rainbow motif.
What do you give when the classic pure silver version seems too understated and the godfather values gilding? A polished silver cup for the table and a spoon with a golden bear attachment that provides a premium accent when unwrapped. How do you find a set for a son that is not only a piece of jewelry but also a learning tool? DoDo adds four colored dots on the handle and tactile reliefs – developed with Russian defectologists and speech therapists for oral sensory development. What suits grandparents who are gifting their first grandchild and want something that will later be passed down as an heirloom? This set combines the elegance of silverware with an educational concept – both in a DoDo box.

Gilding on the bear attachment — what defines the Premium Tier
The difference from the pure silver version (SW11087) lies in the spoon. There, a 3D teddy bear attachment made of pure silver sits, simple and classic. Here, however, the bear's body is finely gilded, with orange guilloché enamel in the belly and chest area. The gilding is not a superficial coating, but a gold layer applied in the ArgentA workshop — the same process used for the higher-priced Royal Childhood silverware pieces. What does this mean in practice? The gold accent reacts differently to light than the uniform shine of silver — a warm spot at the end of the handle that catches the eye first at occasions like a christening or first birthday.
The DoDo baby spoon as a learning tool
DoDo at ArgentA is not a marketing line, but an educational series. The DoDo series spoons were developed with the advice of Russian defectologists and speech therapists — specialists in oral sensory development and speech. Four colored learning dots on the handle (red/yellow/green/blue) provide the child with different visual stimuli. The reliefs along the handle (small indentations and dots) complement this tactilely — when grasping, the child feels different material densities and structures. This variety of stimuli is not a gimmick, but part of hand-mouth coordination that children develop between 4 and 12 months of age.
The boy coding — bow tie instead of ribbon
In the DoDo bear series, there are clear identifiers. The bear version wears either a bow tie around its neck (boy) or a ribbon on its head (girl). Both are on the cup, where they remain clearly visible to parents and guests during drinking. The coding is discreet — no one would recognize it from three meters away — but immediately readable at the moment of unboxing. If the family does not want to commit or wants to give a gender-flexible gift, there is the Royal Childhood silverware version with a teddy bear motif (SW11324) without coding.
When this version fits particularly well
Families often choose the premium boy set in the following situations:
- Godson for christening: if the standard version (SW11087, pure silver) seems too understated and the godfather wants gilding as a premium accent
- Grandparents for the first grandchild: a piece that will later be passed down as an heirloom — solid cup for the table, spoon as an educational keepsake
- Godparents with an educational focus: those who actively appreciate the DoDo learning concept (speech therapy, defectology) will find the full range here
- Engraved gift with a premium character: engraving on cup and spoon, free SilberVerse card, all in the DoDo box
The boy-bear family — Premium Tier in comparison
Within the DoDo boy-bear range, this version is one of two:
- Pure Silver Boy (SW11087) — same cup, but spoon without gilding, without enamel, without 4-color dots. Classic, understated style.
- Premium Boy (this set) — same cup, but spoon with gilding + orange enamel + 4 DoDo learning dots + tactile reliefs.
Which version for whom? If a classic, understated style is desired and the godfather prefers a sober aesthetic, SW11087 is a better fit. If the godfather values gilding, enamel, and the learning tool concept, this premium version is the right choice. For the girl counterpart coding, there is the gender-flexible KK-Tableware version (SW11324).
Engraving — where it sits, what is customary
Two pieces, two engraving locations: cup exterior (opposite the bear relief, usually first name and birth date) and spoon handle back (short text — first name plus date, or a word like "dearest"). We perform the engraving in our workshop; please specify the desired text in the notes when ordering. Both pieces can be engraved separately or together — some godparents only engrave one of the two items so that the other piece can be passed down within the family. With an engraving order, we include a free SilberVerse card — a handwritten poem on photo paper.
Care for gilding and enamel
The gilding on the bear attachment is a gold layer applied in the workshop — durable, but more sensitive than pure silver to aggressive cleaners. Clean the cup and spoon by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry them with a soft cloth. No dishwasher — high temperatures and dishwashing salt could dull the gilding. The orange enamel on the bear's belly is color-fast fired and withstands normal hand-washing. For the cup: a silver polishing cloth once or twice a year, but never rub directly over the gilding or enamel.
Frequently Asked Questions
What distinguishes this spoon from the standard DoDo spoon?
The gilding on the bear attachment and the orange enamel. Standard DoDo spoons (as in the Pure Silver version SW11087) have the bear in pure silver. The learning dot reliefs on the handle are the same in both versions — that is DoDo standard.
Is the cup dishwasher safe?
No. Even though the cup itself is made of pure silver without gilding, we recommend hand washing to maintain its polished shine. Dishwashers can dull silver in the long term.
From what age can the set be used?
The cup comes into practical use from the second half of the first year of life (complementary feeding phase, from approx. 6 months). The spoon can be used as a sensory tool from the first weeks — however, feeding in this phase is done by the parents.
Is the Premium Tier worth it instead of the Pure Silver version?
A matter of taste. The difference covers the gilding, the enamel, and the DoDo learning concept in the spoon. Those who visually and pedagogically appreciate this will see the added value directly. Those who prefer a classic, simple style are better served with the Pure Silver set.
Is there a girl's pendant to this premium set?
Currently, this premium gilding version is only available as a boy's version (with bow tie). For gender-flexible premium gifts, we recommend the 3-piece KK-Tableware Set (SW11324) with a teddy bear motif without gender coding.
