Description

A 925 silver baby gift set with duck motif from the Königliche Kindheit (Royal Childhood) line by ArgentA Manufactory combines a DoDo baby spoon with a duckling sculpture on the handle with a classic rattle with a 3D duckling. Both pieces are made in the same workshop — the spoon as a tactile teaching tool, the rattle as Russian silver craftsmanship. The set comes in the original gift box of the Royal Childhood line — orange-gold with a crown and tree motif, ready to be given for a birth, christening, or first birthday.

What do you give godchildren when the box should be as memorable as the silver inside? A set whose gift box functions as a frame for many years on the keepsake shelf. How do you find a birth or christening gift that doesn't look like "baby accessories" but rather like a family treasure chest? Two pieces of 925 sterling silver with a coordinated duckling motif, curated from one of Russia's most renowned children's silver lines. What do parents want who plan to build on this later? A line in which further pieces — drinking cups, forks, bowls — are available as matching additions.

What defines the Royal Childhood line

Royal Childhood is one of the broadest and most renowned children's silver lines from the ArgentA manufactory. Over the years, the line has encompassed a family of matching pieces — spoons, forks, knives, cups, bowls, rattles, and pacifiers — all with coordinated ornamentation and child-friendly motifs: ducklings, bears, stars, hearts, angels. The manufactory's specialists work with the traditional guilloche technique — a complex engraving method from the Russian goldsmithing tradition that creates plastic, very lively-looking motifs on silver surfaces. Each piece undergoes strict quality control and is polished by hand with cotton rollers.

The DoDo baby spoon with duckling sculpture

The spoon belongs to the DoDo series of the ArgentA Manufactory — a line developed in collaboration with speech therapists, defectologists, and child psychologists. A small 3D sculpture of a duckling sits on top of the handle: a character that becomes a daily companion for the child during meals. The handle itself features a wavy relief that guides the small hand when grasping and also acts as a decoration. The oval bowl is smooth and designed in the classic baby spoon size — suitable from the age of complementary feeding (about 5-6 months) for feeding, and later for independent spooning.

The rattle as Russian silver craftsmanship

The rattle is crafted as a 3D duckling sculpture on an ornamental handle — head up, beak indicated, tail as a sculptural detail. The handle features fine ribbon reliefs in the style of classic Russian silverware. The design is not accidental: this form of rattle has been part of Russian silversmithing tradition for generations — it lies securely in small hands, makes a soft and clear sound when shaken due to the solid 925 silver, and often moves directly into the display cabinet as a keepsake after the first few months of grasping. In the set, it is the representative piece that visually fills the gift box.

Two gift boxes, one line — DoDo and Royal Childhood

The ArgentA Manufactory offers the DoDo pieces in two different gift boxes: in the rainbow-colored DoDo box (with a speech therapy brand world) or in the orange-gold Royal Childhood box (with a crown and tree motif). Both variants contain the same silver pieces — the box serves as a marker for the brand world. Those who prefer the crown and the classic Royal Childhood design choose this variant; those who find the playful rainbow design of the DoDo brand more beautiful choose the other. The sets in the shop are curated examples: on request, we can also put together other combinations — different rattle shapes (ring instead of handle), different motifs from the line, or an extended set size with a cup and fork.

For what occasion — birth, christening, first birthday

Classic occasions are birth and christening — many families present the set as a godparent gift. It also suits a first birthday, when the child begins to grasp the spoon themselves and the rattle moves into the display cabinet as a keepsake. Grandparents often consciously choose the Royal Childhood variant — the orange-gold box with a crown appears more representative than the DoDo line, which suits a classic heirloom gift. The duckling motif is gender-neutral — ducks are considered an innocent symbol of luck for both girls and boys in many families.

Engraving on the spoon and SilberVerse card

The baby spoon is engravable — the back of the handle has space for a name, date, or a short dedication, about 12 to 18 characters per line. The rattle itself is crafted as a 3D sculpture and does not offer a flat area for clean engraving. With an engraving order, we include a free SilberVerse card — a handwritten poem, individually tailored to the occasion and printed on photographic paper.

Everyday care

Clean the baby spoon and rattle by hand with warm water and mild detergent, dry with a soft cloth. On the polished 925 silver surfaces, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient to remove light tarnish — the manufactory polishes the pieces with cotton rollers before shipping, and the shine lasts for decades with careful care. Neither piece is dishwasher safe. For storage, the original Royal Childhood box remains the best solution — it is designed as a keepsake and protects the pieces from dust and tarnishing.

Frequent Questions

What is the difference to the DoDo box variant?
Identical silver pieces, different gift box. The Royal Childhood box is orange-gold with a crown and tree motif, the DoDo box is rainbow-colored with butterflies. Choose the box that fits the desired atmosphere — premium classic or playful and colorful.

Can I have the set put together differently?
Yes. The sets shown in the shop are curated examples from the Royal Childhood line. On request, we are happy to combine other pieces from the line — such as the acrylic ring rattle variant or supplementary pieces such as a cup and fork. Simply contact us.

What is the guilloche technique?
A traditional engraving method from the Russian goldsmithing school, where wavy line patterns are engraved into the silver with high precision. It creates the lively play of light on reliefs and handles — typical of the Royal Childhood line.

Is 925 silver safe for babies?
Yes. 925 sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper — both metals are food-safe. Silver also has natural antibacterial properties and is taste-neutral. The ArgentA manufactory produces the silver directly in its own factory and subjects each piece to manual quality control.

Is the set worth it compared to buying individual items?
Yes. Both pieces in the set are coordinated — same line, same motif, same box. The price of the set is less than the sum of the individual parts, and the representative Royal Childhood box is ready to be used as a gift frame immediately.
