925 Silver Duckling Baby Spoon with Birth Clock — Engraving Included

When was the child born, and at what time exactly? This 925 sterling silver birth spoon captures both. At the top of the handle is a round dial without hands, with two little ducks strolling below. The birth time is engraved as hands, and engraving is included with this spoon. It is perfect for the day of birth, the christening, and the first birthday.

Birth Spoon with Birth Clock and Two Little Ducks

The dial features the numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9 and a small dot in the center. The hands are deliberately omitted and are added through engraving. Below them are two ducks in relief, with small figures further down the handle. The recesses are blackened, so the animals stand out in dark outline against the bright silver. In the bowl, which holds approx. 5 ml, you will feel three small tactile points. At 125 mm long and approx. 17 g, it lies lightly in the hand; ArgentA offers it in the DoDo line of tactile spoons.

Engraving Included: How the Birth Details Are Added to the Spoon

You do not add a flat engraving fee to the shopping cart; engraving is included with this spoon. The birth time is engraved as hands on the dial. On the back are two labeled fields, “cm” for size and “gr” for weight. A short name and the date are placed together on the back of the handle; we check on the piece itself what fits. You can provide us with your details in two ways. Enter the date, time, size, weight, and name in the note at checkout, or send them to us by email after you have ordered. We will agree the exact wording with you afterwards; you do not need to approve anything in advance.

If you would like to add a few words to the spoon, ask about the SilberVerse card, the free verse on photo paper that you can place in the case alongside it.

For Birth, Christening, or the First Birthday

Ducklings follow their mother in a row; many see this as an image of security and family. This is one interpretation and not a promise, but it explains why the motif is so often chosen for newborns. For a christening, the spoon with the engraved details looks like an entry in the family book made of silver. For those who wait until the first birthday, they give a spoon whose clock already dates back one year. This includes a white case decorated with a rainbow ribbon and bow; its appearance may differ from the photo.

If you would like a different motif, the same idea is available as Girl with a Seashell Crown or as Airplane Among Clouds. You can find all models under Silver Birth Spoons.

Duck spoon: questions about the birth clock

What does “engraving included” mean here?
The engraving of the birth details is already included with the spoon. You only order the spoon; you do not need the engraving service separately for this model.

How do I send the birth details?
The easiest way is to write them in the order note when placing the order. If you only remember later, an email after the order is sufficient. We will discuss the wording with you before engraving.

What goes on the dial, and what goes on the back?
On the dial, the engraved hands show the birth time. The back has two labeled fields for size and weight and space for a name.

What is a birth spoon?
A spoon that carries the details of the birth: time, weight, size, date and name. With the duck spoon, the engraving is already included. It suits a birth as well as a christening; more ideas can be found among the birth gifts.

How do I keep the silver in shape?
Rinse the spoon with lukewarm water after use and dry it gently. Only polish the shiny surfaces; the blackened recesses are part of the design.

Is the motif also available with a girl or an airplane?
Yes, as Girl Birth Spoon and as Airplane Birth Spoon. For both, the engraving is ordered via the engraving service.
