The upper part shows a sitting teddy bear as a fully three-dimensional figure — sitting upright, with slightly bent legs, round ears, and a bow around its neck. Inside are small balls that create a gentle, bright jingle when shaken. The handle below is smooth and polished, tapers downwards, and ends in a rounded tip. Manufactured by the Russian silver manufactory Russkije Samozvety in St. Petersburg. Unlike 925 sterling silver (92.5% silver, 7.5% copper), 999 fine silver contains no alloy: The luster appears cooler and clearer, the material is noticeably heavier for the same volume, and tarnishes slower because the oxidizing copper content is absent.
