Material and Workmanship
The red surface of this frame is guilloche enamel: a fine, repeating pattern was engraved into the brass before several layers of transparent enamel were applied. This creates a surface with depth - depending on the light, the red hue changes between rich dark red and luminous shimmer. The outer frame is fully gilded, the inner window is fitted with genuine jeweler's glass, and a wooden insert supports the construction from the back. This combination of enamel, brass, glass, and wood ensures longevity and protects the inserted photo from dust and minor impacts.
Use and Occasions
With a width of approx. 8.5 cm and a length of approx. 11 cm, this frame is deliberately kept compact - ideal for smaller photo formats and for places where no space should be wasted: the shelf, the desk, the bedside table. The clean rectangular lines of the outer frame and inner cutout give the piece a classic, timeless look. It is suitable as a gift for birthdays, as a small token of appreciation, or as a decorative element in a child's room when a special photo deserves a worthy place.
Care
The enameled surface and gilded frame are best cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Harsh cleaning agents should be avoided to preserve the gilding and the color depth of the enamel. The glass can be gently polished with a microfiber cloth.
