Material and workmanship
Underneath the violet enamel is a delicate guilloché pattern, worked into the brass — geometric lines that catch the light and change between dark and lighter violet depending on the viewing angle. This technique requires an evenly applied, crystal-clear enamel layer that acts like a magnifying glass over the pattern beneath. In the lower right corner sits a small cat appliqué made of silver — a playful detail that gives the frame its childlike character. The oval picture opening is framed by a narrow beaded trim that neatly finishes the transition to the violet field.
Use and occasions
This frame is designed for those small, important photos: the first smile, the first day of kindergarten, a holiday picture with grandparents. It fits on a bedside table in the children's room, on a shelf, or a desk. The cat picture frame makes an ideal gift for a birth, christening, or child's birthday — for parents, grandparents, and godparents who are looking for a lasting keepsake instead of another toy.
Care
Wipe the enamel surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth — do not use abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface. The silver appliqué reacts like ordinary silver and can be refreshed with a silver polishing cloth if necessary. Protect from prolonged, direct sunlight to ensure the enamel color retains its depth.
Frequently asked questions
What photo size fits in the opening?
The oval picture opening is designed for small portrait photos. The easiest way is to print the photo slightly larger and cut it to fit the oval.
Is the frame made of silver?
The frame itself is made of brass with an enamel coating. Only the small cat appliqué is made of silver.
How do I change the photo?
The back panel can be removed, the photo inserted, and the back panel closed again — uncomplicated and without tools.
