Teaspoon Zodiac Sign Pisces 925 Silver – Niello and Gold

Two fish pulling in opposite directions while remaining connected — no zodiac sign carries its dual nature as visibly as Pisces. This 925 sterling silver teaspoon features this very motif: gold-plated and engraved into the bowl, with a fully gold-plated handle and a floral niello ornament at the tip. A piece of tableware from the SevChern manufactory in Veliky Ustyug that translates the sensitivity of this water sign into silver.

Material and workmanship

The bowl of the spoon bears two ornamental fish, gold-plated, engraved, and framed by a fine border line — a calm, symmetrical motif on a polished silver background. The handle is completely gold-plated, and the end is finished with a niello ornament of floral vines. Niello is a black inlay that is melted into engraved lines, chemically bonding with the silver — not a print, not a lacquer, but a permanent connection that lasts for years. This spoon is crafted by SevChern (ZAO Severnaya Chern) in Veliky Ustyug, where the Veliky Ustyug niello tradition has been documented since 1683.

Usage and occasions

As a teaspoon for coffee, tea, or a small dessert, this piece is everyday tableware for adults. As a gift, it is particularly suitable for birthdays between February 20 and March 19 — the time when winter and spring merge into one another. It is also a personal choice as an addition for someone who already owns silver pieces with the Pisces motif, or as a gift for the parents or godparents of a child with this zodiac sign.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Since the bowl already features the Pisces motif, there is no additional space available there for a personal engraving. For an individual dedication, we offer the SilberVerse card: a personally designed card in 15 × 10 cm landscape format, tailored to the occasion and the recipient — made as a unique item at no extra cost. It is included with the gift and carries your personal message.

Care

Store in a dry place and rinse by hand after use. Use silver polish only on the bare, gold-plated surfaces — not on the niello ornament, so that the fine pattern is preserved. With proper care, the dark niello contrast remains visible for years and actually becomes more distinct when polished.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Pisces motif located on the teaspoon?
In the bowl, on the front of the spoon head — two ornamental fish, gold-plated, engraved, and surrounded by a fine border line. The handle is completely gold-plated, and the end of the handle features the niello ornament.

Is this teaspoon suitable as a birthday gift for Pisces?
Yes. People with the zodiac sign Pisces are born between February 20 and March 19 — the spoon is a personal, thematically appropriate birthday gift for this period.

How do you properly care for niello and gilding?
Store in a dry place, rinse by hand after use, and wipe dry. Use silver polish exclusively on the gold-plated surfaces, never directly on the niello ornament.
