Description
When a child is baptized, a new chapter begins for the family — a life that, as many traditions believe, is henceforth under the protection of an angel. This gold-plated baptism spoon made of 925 sterling silver features this very image on its handle: a guardian angel above a heart, surrounded by small gold-plated hearts. A baptism gift that lasts, and one that becomes truly personal with an engraving.

Material and workmanship
The gold plating is applied galvanically: the silver is coated with pure gold in an electrolytic bath, creating an even, durable surface that contrasts with the bright silver of the spoon. On the handle stands a guardian angel with outstretched wings above a heart, with three small gold-plated hearts below — a delicate yet clearly recognizable motif. The spoon is part of the Royal Childhood design world by ArgentA and is delivered in a high-quality gift box with a gold gradient and ribbon.
Usage and occasions
This baptism spoon is suitable for boys and girls alike — the gold plating is gender-neutral, without any pink or blue, making it particularly practical if you are looking for twins or without knowing the gender. It is a classic gift from a godparent for a baptism, and equally suitable as a gift from grandparents who want to provide the child with an heirloom. The guardian angel above the heart is reminiscent of the psalm verse "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways" — a line often quoted at baptisms that expresses the hope that the child is not alone on their journey.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
The back of the spoon handle offers space for an individual engraving with a name, baptism date, or a short baptism verse such as "May your guardian angel accompany you" or "Under God's protection." Please enter your wishes in the notes field when ordering, and we will implement the engraving. In addition, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15×10 cm landscape) upon request — individually designed, tailored to the occasion, and free of charge. You can find more information on our engraving service page.
Care
Clean the spoon only with a soft cloth and warm water, without scouring agents or hard brushes. The gold plating is not dishwasher safe — the heat and cleaning agents can damage it and cause it to become dull. The silver underneath may tarnish slightly over time; a mild silver polish or a silver polishing cloth will restore its shine. Store the spoon in a dry place afterwards, preferably in the provided gift box.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spoon suitable for boys or girls?
Equally for both — the gold color is neutral and goes well with any baptismal gown.
Which baptism verses fit the guardian angel motif?
Popular choices are "May your guardian angel accompany you," "Under God's protection," or a shortened version of Psalm 91:11. We are happy to advise you on the appropriate length for the engraving area.
How do I properly care for the gold plating?
Clean only with a soft cloth and warm water, no scouring agents and no dishwasher — this will keep the gold plating beautiful for many years.
