Material and craftsmanship

At the tip of the handle sits a round clock face with the numerals 12, 3, 6, and 9, framed by a simple, slim ring. Directly below, two ducklings are perched one above the other on the handle, sculpted in 3D with recognizable beaks, wings, and fluffy down. In the lower handle area, cloud and grass elements suggest a natural scene. The oval spoon bowl is polished to a mirror finish and is suitable as a tea, dessert, or baby spoon.

Occasions and target groups

A birth is the most obvious occasion for this spoon — grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, and close friends give it as a personal welcome gift. For a christening, a birth spoon with custom engraving is a traditional yet personal gift. It is also suitable for a first birthday for anyone who would like to give a special gift after the fact — the birth data can still be engraved even after twelve months.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

This spoon offers five engraving areas on two sides: on the front, the birth clock as an engraving as well as a small area for a short name engraving. On the back, two fields for birth weight and birth height as well as a lower area for a name, date, or dedication. Since multiple fields on two sides are processed individually, please contact us before ordering. Additionally, we offer a complimentary, digitally designed SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format (landscape).

Care

Rinse with warm water and mild dish soap after use and dry with a soft cloth. Silver can develop a natural patina, which can be easily removed with a silver polishing cloth. Not dishwasher safe — aggressive detergents can damage the surface and engraving.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the fields for weight and height on the back?
This is a deliberate design concept: the front remains entirely dedicated to the motif and the birth clock, while the back becomes the "data side" with fields for birth weight and birth height.

How does the birth clock work?
The clock face at the handle tip shows the numerals 12, 3, 6, and 9 without hands. The hour and minute hands are added via engraving to indicate the exact time of birth.

Can I give the spoon as a gift without engraving?
Yes. Even without engraving, the birth spoon is a high-quality 925 sterling silver gift; the engraving can be added at any time later.
