Description
Are you looking for a christening gift for a goddaughter that is girlish without resorting to pink plush or princess clichés? This two-piece gift set made of 925 sterling silver features a classic heraldic coat of arms instead of a figure: a children's cup and a children's spoon, both with a red escutcheon, delicate wave lines, and a golden crown. Symbolism over kitsch — a set that will last beyond the baby years.
At a glance
- Set components: Children's cup and children's spoon
- Material: 925 sterling silver, highly polished
- Embellishment: Heraldic coat of arms with red enamel and golden crown, yellow volutes on the sides
- Cup: approx. 150 ml, Ø approx. 65 mm, height approx. 60 mm, approx. 88 g
- Spoon: approx. 135 mm, approx. 30 g, classic teaspoon shape
Material and workmanship
The cup and spoon are made of 925 sterling silver and feature the same coat of arms on the front of the belly and the top of the handle respectively: a shield with red enamel and delicate wave lines, crowned by a golden crown and framed on the sides by yellow volutes. The set comes from the "Königliche Kindheit" (Royal Childhood) line by the ArgentA manufactory. The cup has an ornamental volute handle, making it easy for small hands to grasp.
Occasions and target groups
This set is suitable as a gift for the birth or christening of a daughter and is especially aimed at godmothers, godfathers, and grandmothers who are looking for a gift with a clear but subtle girlish touch. Because red in heraldry stands for love and dignity, the set is well suited for an occasion where affection and appreciation are central. For siblings or twins, the blue "Prince" variant offers a matching counterpart.
Engraving and SilberVerse Card
The back of the cup offers space for a name and date, and the back of the spoon handle for a short secondary engraving. A family initial, for example, the first letter of the first name, can be engraved in the coat of arms shield upon request. With every engraving order, we include a SilberVerse card in landscape format (15 x 10 cm) — currently free of charge, individually tailored to the occasion and recipient, and designed as a unique item.
Care
Clean the cup and spoon by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry them with a soft cloth. We advise against using a dishwasher, as heat and aggressive cleaning tabs can damage enamel and gilding over time. A silver polishing cloth is sufficient for the polished silver surfaces; please avoid the coat of arms and crown.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the coat of arms variant differ from the sculpture variant?
The coat of arms is a symbolic representation with a shield and crown, while other sets in the line feature a figurative girl sculpture. Both variants consist of a cup and spoon; only the visual language differs.
Can an initial be engraved in the coat of arms?
Yes, upon request. The shield has a smooth surface that offers space for an initial. Additionally, names and dates can be placed on the backs of the cup and spoon.
From what age is the set suitable?
The cup is suitable with supervision from about 6 to 12 months, and the spoon can be used from the start of complementary feeding. In its classic teaspoon shape, it remains suitable for everyday use even at school age.
