Material and Craftsmanship

The red enamel is not applied lacquer but genuine enamel glass, permanently bonded to the silver using the traditional cloisonné technique: fine gold wires form small cells, which are filled with enamel powder and fired at around 800 degrees Celsius. This creates a glassy, deep color effect that is scratch-resistant and UV-resistant, lasting for decades. The image of Saint Matrona is sculpturally crafted and gilded, the stem features Orthodox ornamental patterns, and the bowl is smoothly polished.
