Champagne Flute 925 Silver Niello Grapevines — Tulip Goblet 160 ml

Special properties of products
Description
A slender tulip shape that opens toward the top — the classic champagne flute silhouette, only crafted from 925 sterling silver, featuring a wide niello band of grapevines, blossoms, and grapes in the upper third. The bowl is conical, tapering to a short stem, and stands on a flat base. Entirely in silver, without gilding: the contrast between the polished surface and the black niello ornament stands on its own — a champagne flute that makes a statement during a toast precisely because it is not made of glass.

Material and craftsmanship
The tulip is the natural shape for sparkling wine and champagne: slender enough to retain carbonation, slightly flared at the top to lead aromas to the nose. In silver, this shape takes on a different weight than in glass, noticeable the moment you lift it. The grapevine ornament is positioned as a wide band in the upper third of the bowl: blossoms, leaves, and small grapes intertwine in niello black on polished silver, hand-engraved and filled with black niello that is fused, sanded flush, and polished — like ink in silver. Below this, the silver surface remains smooth down to the stem — a division that gives the bowl clear proportions: the decorative part where the eye looks first, the calm part where the hand grips. Without gilding, this glass showcases the purest form of the niello contrast. Crafted in the SevChern manufactory in Veliky Ustyug, where this hand-engraving technique has been cultivated for generations.
Usage and occasions
Even without a ring motif, a silver champagne flute works perfectly for a wedding toast — polished silver complements any wedding dress and table setting. On New Year's Eve, a midnight toast from a silver chalice adds a special touch to the moment. For a silver wedding anniversary, corporate anniversary, or milestone birthday, a champagne flute made of 925 silver lends the occasion the gravitas it deserves. The glass works well as an individual gift or as a pair for a shared toast.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Upon approval, engraving is possible on the polished surface below the ornamental band or on the base. Upon request with your order, we will include a free SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) — individually designed to match the occasion.
Care
Hand wash only with warm water; do not place in the dishwasher. A soft cloth is sufficient for drying and polishing the silver surface. Niello requires no special care other than protection from harsh cleaners — the contrast with the silver remains permanently intact.
Frequently asked questions
Can you actually drink sparkling wine from it?
Yes. The niello texture can slightly influence the perlage; finer bubbles are possible. Clean with warm water; do not put in the dishwasher.
Is an engraving possible?
Yes, upon approval, on the polished surface below the ornamental band or on the base.
Why does this glass have no gilding?
The design consciously relies on the pure contrast between polished silver and black niello without additional gold accents — a calmer, more classic variation compared to the gilded models in the collection.
