Description
This 925 sterling silver child's cup with a handle features a small, raised star relief on the front—compact and clearly defined, with the rest of the body smooth. Measuring approx. 5 × 6 cm and weighing approx. 60 g, it sits comfortably in small hands, while the curved handle with scroll volutes ensures a secure grip. Previously only available as part of a set, it is now also available to purchase individually.
For a birth
The first cup of their own
No disposable plastic, but a piece that grows with the child at the table.
View birth giftsWhat makes this child's cup with star motif special
The manufacturer calls the piece the "Baby Cup w/ Handle – Mod. Star, in Sterling Silver": a cylindrical cup body made of 925 sterling silver with a flared rolled edge. On the front, there is a small, raised star relief, while the rest of the body remains smooth. The handle swings out to the side and ends in small scroll volutes at both top and bottom. At approx. 60 g, the cup feels noticeably heavier in the hand than a plastic cup.
The star as a motif – a sign for orientation
A star points in a direction one can hold onto. On this cup, it appears anew every morning as soon as the child is brought to the breakfast table—a simple, recurring sign in an ordinary place.
For which occasion – birth, baptism, and as an addition to table culture
For a birth, the cup is a first drinking vessel of one's own; for a baptism, the star motif is suitable as a neutral symbol without gender or denominational ties. Previously only available in a three-piece table culture set, it can now also be gifted individually. You can see further cups in the children's cup collection.
Engraving – certainly possible
According to the manufacturer, the cup can be safely engraved. The body is smooth, apart from the star relief, and offers space for a name—we are happy to clarify the exact area when you place your order. If you would like a verse to accompany the name, you can request a SilberVerse free of charge: a verse written specifically for the occasion and the name.
Other pieces in the star line
Belonging to the same motif is the new baby spoon with star & moon relief, whose handle also features a crescent moon—on the cup itself, only the star is visible. The napkin ring and the three-piece table culture set, which already includes this cup, are also a perfect match.
Care
Wash by hand with lukewarm water and dry well. A soft silver polishing cloth restores the shine if it tarnishes. The piece is not intended for the dishwasher.
