Material and Workmanship

Both pieces are made of highly polished 925 sterling silver without enamel or gilding—the effect is created by clear form and clean polish. The plastically shaped heart of the rattle hangs on a soft, mother-of-pearl white acrylic ring, which serves as a teething ring for the first teething months. The spoon is part of its own Zaramella line: the handle is ergonomically slightly curved, allowing an adult hand to guide the baby during the first solid food without twisting the wrist. The set is manufactured by the Italian factory Zaramella in Padova, which has been producing silverware in European tradition since 1948.

Occasions and Target Groups

The main occasion is birth—the rattle accompanies the first months functionally, the spoon comes into use with the start of solid food and then remains as a keepsake in the family silver. Baptism is just as suitable: the heart shape is denominationally neutral as a symbol of love, and the spoon can be engraved with the baptismal date. The set is suitable for high-end godchild gifts, a first birthday, or as a gift from grandparents to grandchildren—especially if a classically restrained taste without colorful motifs is desired.

Care

925 silver is best cared for with a soft cloth—no immersion bath as long as the acrylic ring is mounted, as acrylic does not tolerate polishing solutions. Clean both materials separately with lukewarm water and a dry microfiber cloth. Store best in the original gift box, dry and protected from dust.

925 sterling silver is non-toxic. The acrylic ring is food-safe, soft enough for teething babies, and firmly connected to the heart—safe in construction and material.

From what age is the set suitable?
The rattle is grasped from about three months, its peak is at six to nine months. The spoon is there as a keepsake from birth, functionally it comes into use with the start of solid food around six months.

Can I have the rattle and spoon engraved?
The spoon is very well engravable. The heart rattle is more difficult due to its 3D curvature—this can be checked upon request but is not included in the standard service.
