Picture Frame 925 Sterling Silver Monaco — 18×18 cm, square, engravable

The large square is the format that creates a sense of calm on the shelf: 18 × 18 cm, solid 925 sterling silver, framed by a double beaded border. Where a portrait orientation always dictates a direction, the square stands on its own — it is just as suitable for a family photo as it is for a single portrait.

Why the large square works

Square photos are created constantly these days — taken on a phone, cropped to a square. Once printed, they usually end up in a frame that is too narrow or too tall for them. The Monaco accommodates them in their own shape, and in a size that is effective even from two meters away.

The beaded border runs in a double line: once on the outer edge, and once inside around the photo opening. In between lies a wide, highly polished surface — at this size, it is large enough for the silver to appear as a material in its own right, rather than just as a border.

Material and Craftsmanship

Made from 925 sterling silver, high-polish finish. With a square frame, the care taken is evident in the corners: the row of beads must terminate identically on all four sides, otherwise the picture will look off-balance. Manufactured by Zaramella Argenti in Italy, a family business that has been crafting silver goods since 1948.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The wide polished surface between the rows of beads offers plenty of space for an engraving — a name, a date, a short dedication. We carry out engravings after assessment — please contact us before ordering so that we can clarify the placement and font size together.

Upon request, we will include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format — individually designed to suit the occasion and free of charge, also available to order without an engraving.

For which occasions is the large Monaco suitable?

For baptisms and births, when godparents or grandparents are looking for something lasting. For the first day of school, because the photo from that day receives a place here that it will keep. And for milestone anniversaries, where a family picture in silver carries more weight than a card. The smaller version in 10 × 10 cm can be found here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What photo size fits inside?

A square photo in 18 × 18 cm format.

Can the frame be engraved?

Yes, upon assessment. The surface between the rows of beads is particularly generous in this format.

Is it available in a smaller size?

Yes, in 10 × 10 cm format — same design, same decor.

Does the silver tarnish?

Sterling silver reacts with the air and darkens over time. A soft silver polishing cloth will remove the tarnish. How to best care for children's silver can be found in our care guide.
