The niello floral motifs are engraved on both sides of the matte handles — a quality feature that is not self-evident in every niello set. Because each line is drawn by hand, the engraving differs minimally from piece to piece: proof of the master's signature, not machine-made series production. The bowls of the spoons and the tines of the forks are fully gilded, as are the edges of the handles and their rounded ends. This targeted combination of silver, niello, and gold makes Astra Classic the most popular variant of the collection.

Material and Workmanship

All four pieces are made of 925 sterling silver. The niello inlay is created by melting a dark silver alloy into pre-engraved depressions and then polishing it — flush with the surface, permanently bonded to the metal. The gilding is selectively applied to the bowls, tines, and handle edges, while the knife blade made of matte 925 silver remains functionally sharp. Care

Clean the set by hand with warm water and mild dish soap to protect the partial gilding and niello inlay. The dishwasher is not suitable, as aggressive cleaners can damage the gilding. Dry the pieces immediately after washing with a soft cloth and store them in the included gift case. For slight tarnishing, a silver polishing cloth is sufficient — the niello lines will become clearer rather than weaker.
