Material and craftsmanship

The name “Fruit Paradise” describes the motif: a dense composition of blossoms, leaves, and fruit shapes hand-engraved into the body of the bowl and filled with niello. Niello is a black inlay that is fused into the engraved lines, sanded flush, and polished—like ink in silver; no lacquer, no coating, but a permanent component of the metal. This version deliberately remains without gilding: the niello contrast appears sharper and clearer on polished silver than on gold-plated surfaces. The two elegantly crafted handles are not just functional but part of the overall design language, as is the wide, round base with its own niello frieze.

Usage and occasions

With a capacity of 1200 ml, the bowl is generously dimensioned for fruit—whether as a classic fruit bowl on the dining table, an eye-catcher on a sideboard, or empty as a decorative object. As a gift, it is suitable for golden or silver weddings, significant anniversaries, or as a presentation gift for institutions and companies. For collectors of Russian tableware, it is a unique piece due to its origin and hand engraving. The bowl can be filled directly with fruit or other food items.

Care

Polish with a soft cloth—no dishwasher, no aggressive silver dip, no scouring agents. The contrasts of the niello engraving deepen with regular polishing rather than fading. Rinse with lukewarm water after use and dry immediately. Store in the gift box or in soft silver cloths.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference compared to the gold-plated “Fruit Paradise”?

This version is entirely in polished 925 silver without gilding—only the niello black of the engraving provides the contrast. The partially gold-plated variant has gold-plated handles, a partially gold-plated base, and a fully gold-plated inner bowl. Both variants share the same motif, dimensions, and weight.

How do I care for the bowl after serving?

Clean by hand with warm water and mild dish soap and dry thoroughly; for tarnishing, a silver polishing cloth helps. The niello is firmly bonded to the silver.

For which occasions is this bowl suitable as a gift?

Golden and silver weddings, significant anniversaries, wedding gifts from a group, presentation gifts for institutions and executives, as well as donations to collectors of Russian tableware.
