Silver bowl 925 silver gold-plated Fruit Paradise 1200 ml

The first look into this bowl reveals: gold. Not just the cool sheen of polished silver, but the warm glow of a fully gold-plated interior, framed by a floral engraving in deep niello black with gilded accents within the ornament itself. Material and craftsmanship

The body is made of solid 925 sterling silver. The interior of the bowl is fully gold-plated. The two side handles are also gilded, and the round base features gilded decorative elements. The floral engraving of the "Fruit Paradise" line adorns the silver body: blossoms, leaves, and fruits, fused in using the niello technique and accented with gold in several places, allowing black, gold, and silver to interplay within the same ornament. Niello is neither paint nor lacquer, but a black inlay that is melted into the engraved lines, sanded flat, and polished – like ink in silver. The bowl is crafted by SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, where this technique has been documented since 1683; the workshop was awarded a gold medal in Paris in 1937 for this work.

Usage and occasions

With a volume of 1200 ml, this bowl is intended for fruit, desserts, or as a decorative centerpiece. By candlelight, the gold of the interior bowl reflects the flames, while the niello black of the engraving remains calm and deep – an interaction that transforms the table on which the bowl sits. As a gift, the gilded "Fruit Paradise" is particularly suited for golden weddings and significant anniversaries of 40 years or more, as well as a presentation gift for institutions, supervisory boards, or executives. For collectors of Russian tableware, the piece fulfills all the criteria of a serious collector's item: provenance from Veliky Ustyug, hand-engraved niello, and gold plating that elevates the non-gilded version of the collection even further.

Care

Clean gilded silver with a soft cloth – no silver bath, which would damage the gold plating, no dishwasher, no abrasive agents. After use, rinse the interior of the bowl with lukewarm water and dry it immediately. The niello contrasts deepen with regular, gentle polishing of the non-gilded silver surfaces. Store the bowl in the included gift box, in a dry place protected from moisture.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the non-gilded "Fruit Paradise"?
The silver version is entirely in polished 925 silver, with only the niello providing contrast. This version has a fully gold-plated interior bowl, gold-plated handles, and gold-plated elements on the base. Both versions share the same motif, dimensions, and weight.

What should I look out for regarding the gold plating?
The important thing is: no dishwasher and no silver bath, as both will damage the gold plating. Clean by hand and dry immediately.

For which occasions is this silver bowl suitable as a gift?
Golden weddings, significant anniversaries of 40 years or more, a joint wedding gift from a group, presentation gifts for institutions and executives, and gifts for collectors of Russian tableware.
