Silver bowl on a stem 925 silver

75 milliliters is not much – and that is precisely what makes this silver coupe on a stem a piece for the first or last moment at the table, not for the main serving. Caviar, a small mousse, a sorbet between two courses: whatever fits into this coupe is always a sign that someone has put some thought into it.

Material and workmanship

This coupe is crafted from solid 925 sterling silver, with a deliberately chosen dual-surface finish: matte on the outside, highly polished on the inside. The silky, matte outer wall allows the encircling niello band to appear particularly calm and deep; the polished interior basin presents every content as if on a small stage. The stem with its central knob and the ring base give the bowl, with its 78 mm diameter and 85 mm height, a nearly balanced proportion – a silhouette reminiscent of champagne glasses, here translated into silver and intended for serving rather than drinking. With a volume of 75 ml and a weight of approx. 115 g, it sits light and secure in the hand by the stem.

Usage and occasions

75 ml is the classic quantity for a spoonful of caviar on ice, a small mousse, a sorbet between two courses, or an amuse-bouche. This coupe is not an everyday piece, but one for evenings that you remember. As a gift, it is suitable for people who take a laid table seriously: for a wedding, for a couple who want to start with an enduring piece; for an anniversary, for someone who appreciates 925 silver and niello craftsmanship; as a business gift that a common present would not do justice to. Collectors of Russian tableware will find this shape – a coupe on a stem with a complete ornamental band – to be a rare addition.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

The underside of the base offers space for a personal engraving – a date, initials, or a short sentence, visible only to those who turn the piece over. Please provide your engraving request when ordering. Upon request, we can also include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15×10 cm landscape) – individually designed, appropriate for the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

Clean the coupe by hand with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Avoid dishwashers and silver immersion baths. The niello band is permanently fused into the silver and handles normal cleaning without any issues. The matte outer surface remains beautiful if you avoid abrasive agents; the high-gloss polish on the inside can be refreshed at any time with a soft silver polishing cloth. Store the bowl in the gift case – this way, the silver will tarnish more slowly.

Frequently asked questions

For which dishes is 75 ml suitable?

75 ml is the classic portion size for caviar, small mousse portions, sorbet between two courses, an amuse-bouche, or chilled appetizers like ceviche or tartare. The coupe shape displays the contents from above, so the eye sees what is inside before the first spoonful is taken.

What does "matte outside, polished inside" mean?

The outer wall of the bowl is brushed – a silky matte surface that does not reflect light and makes the niello band appear calmer. The inner surface is highly polished, a clear mirror for the contents. This contrast is a deliberate aesthetic choice.

What distinguishes this piece from a silver-plated coupe?

Silver-plated tableware has a layer of silver on another base metal, which wears off over time. This coupe consists entirely of solid 925 sterling silver, and the niello is chemically fused, not applied. Both features are permanent – the piece can be polished, repaired, and passed on.
