Material and workmanship

The porcelain insert ensures that the coffee retains its pure taste, while the silver cup holder with gilded handle holds the cup stably and at the same time lends it elegance. On the saucer, hop blossoms and leaves entwine in a wide band around the entire rim, framed by two golden edges — each line engraved by silversmiths and then filled with the dark niello alloy of silver, copper, lead, and sulfur. The coffee spoon is fully gilded and features the same niello engraving on the handle. The cup holds 50 ml, the classic size for espresso or Turkish coffee. Together with the niello-decorated spoon and the opulent saucer, a place setting is created that can also stand alone as an art object on the table.
