The decanter consists of a bulbous body with a narrow neck and a fully gilded lid, the lower edge of which bears a narrow niello floral band—a subtle transition to the neck. The lid seals airtight, protecting spirits from evaporation and oxidation. The matte exterior of the body features a continuous niello frieze of blossoms and tendrils in deep black infill. Gold-plated rings run around the neck and the lower body, emphasizing the decanter's proportions—the combination of matte silver, gold-plated rings, and black niello blossoms characterizes the entire Astra Classic line.

Niello is not a color or lacquer, but an alloy that is melted into engraved depressions and forms a permanent bond with the silver. In the Astra Classic, the floral band is hand-engraved into the matte silver surface, then filled with the dark niello compound. The gold plating on the lid and rings is an additional refinement step, deliberately placed—not covering the entire surface, but as a frame around the matte silver.
