Shot glass 925 silver gold-plated Niello | Astra Classic | 25ml

A small glass with a clear attitude: conical body without a base, fully gold-plated interior, matte exterior with three hand-engraved niello flower groups. The Astra Classic shot glass, crafted from 925 sterling silver, is made for the moment when a schnapps or vodka is not just drunk, but consciously savored.

Material and craftsmanship

The body of the Astra Classic is conically shaped and lacks a pedestal base — a design typical of the Russian vodka and schnapps tradition. The interior is fully high-gloss gold-plated, a surface that makes schnapps or vodka appear warm and refined, remains taste-neutral, and simultaneously protects the silver from tarnishing. The upper rim is widely gold-plated, creating an elegant finish, with a narrow gold-plated ring running just below it. The exterior is matted and features three symmetrically arranged niello flower groups: one central group at the front and two on the sides, each with tendrils and leaves in a deep black niello filling, where one flower in each group is gold-plated — the signature accent of the Astra Classic line. This combination of a fully gold-plated interior, matte silver surfaces, black niello ornaments, and gold-plated accents comes from the SevChern manufactory and harmonizes perfectly with the carafe, the cognac glass, and all other Astra pieces.

Usage and occasions

With a capacity of 25 ml, the glass is sized appropriately for short spirits: a generous portion of schnapps, a classic vodka, a liqueur, or a fine grappa. The conical shape — wider at the top, narrower at the bottom — sits comfortably in the hand while drinking, and the absence of a base element makes the glass authentically Russian: in this tradition, schnapps and vodka glasses are not swirled like a cognac glass, but are drunk in one go or sipped consciously. The Astra Classic shot glass harmonizes with the Astra Classic carafe and the Astra Classic cognac glass from the same collection — all feature the same three niello flower groups with gold-plated accent flowers and fully gold-plated interiors. Those who combine several glasses with a carafe create a stylish ensemble for dinner parties or spirit tastings.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Upon review, we can engrave the exterior between the niello flower groups — with a name, date, initials, or a short dedication. Upon request, we will include a personalized SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) with your order, designed uniquely for the occasion at no extra cost.

Care

Clean the glass by hand using warm water and a mild dish soap to preserve the gold plating and niello inlays. After use with schnapps or vodka, clear water is often sufficient; dry afterwards with a soft cloth. The high-gloss gold plating and hand-engraved flower groups are sensitive to aggressive detergents and the mechanical stress of a dishwasher — with careful hand washing, the glass will remain flawless for decades.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the shot glass not have a base?

The Astra Classic follows the Russian vodka and schnapps tradition: these glasses are not swirled, but placed on the table and drunk in one go or sipped consciously. The conical shape without a base also makes the glass more compact and stackable.

How much should I pour?

With a capacity of 25 ml, we recommend about 20 ml for a classic schnapps portion. In the Russian vodka ritual, the glass is sometimes filled to the brim and drunk in one go.

Can the shot glass be engraved?

Yes, upon review. We can engrave names, dates, initials, or a dedication on the matte exterior between the flower groups, along with the free SilberVerse card.
