Material and Workmanship

The handles of frosted 925 silver feature a double-sided niello floral pattern: Each line is etched into the silver, the black niello alloy is melted in, and with time, the contrast deepens. This "ink in silver" chemically and physically bonds with the metal – not a lacquer or coating that peels off, but a connection that lasts for generations. The gilding adds targeted accents: the bowls of the spoons and the tines of the forks are fully gilded, as are the edges and rounded ends of the handles. The knife blades remain in frosted silver – functional and contrasting with the gold. Each of the 24 pieces bears the original manufacturer's mark of the SevChern manufactory from Russia, a proof of origin as well as a stamp of quality.
