The "Astra Classic" dinner spoon is the main cutlery for soups and main courses on the festive table. With its floral niello pattern on gilded 925 sterling silver, it belongs to the Astra collection and brings a piece of Russian silver artistry to the set table. With a length of 200 mm, it is the longest spoon in the collection's flatware assortment.

Material and workmanship

The floral Astra pattern is created by niello inlays in the gilded silver: A dark sulfide alloy is melted into engraved depressions, creating the characteristic contrast between the delicate ornament and the warm gold of the bowl and handle. The spoon is crafted by the silversmith SevChern in Veliky Ustyug, one of the centers of the Russian niello tradition.

As a dinner spoon, this piece is intended for soups and main courses at the set table, but is also suitable as a gift for weddings, anniversaries, or milestone birthdays. It can be combined with other Astra Classic pieces — dinner fork, dessert fork, dessert knife, coffee spoon, and serving pieces share the same pattern and proportions.
