Material and craftsmanship
The floral Astra pattern is created through niello inlays in the gold-plated silver: a dark sulfide alloy is melted into engraved depressions, creating the characteristic contrast between the delicate ornament and the warm gold of the bowl and handle. The spoon is crafted by the SevChern silversmiths in Veliky Ustyug, one of the centers of the Russian niello tradition.
Usage and occasions
As a table spoon, this piece is intended for soups and main courses at a set table, but it is also suitable as a gift for a wedding, anniversary, or milestone birthday. It can be combined with other Astra Classic pieces — the table fork, dessert fork, dessert knife, coffee spoon, and serving pieces all share the same pattern and proportions.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Beyond the niello ornament, additional personalized engraving is possible upon review; we will coordinate the appropriate area with you individually. Upon request, we can also include a personal SilberVerse card in 15 x 10 cm photo format — individually designed to suit the occasion, free of charge.
Care
The spoon does not require a dishwasher — hand washing with a mild detergent or wiping it dry is sufficient to protect the gold plating. After washing, buff dry with a soft cloth.
