Material and Craftsmanship

The carafe combines several techniques in one piece: a floral ornamental band runs around the neck and belly, first hand-engraved and then filled with dark niello paste — this inlay is not a paint or coating, but a permanent bond with the silver itself, comparable to ink that permanently penetrates the metal. The lid, handle, spout, and base ring are multi-layered gilded, creating a warm, deep gold tone that contrasts with the polished silver. The curved, gilded handle rests balanced in the hand and ensures controlled pouring. Weighing almost 680 g, the Astra Classic has noticeable substance — a feeling of material value that lighter carafes do not offer.

Care
