The Astra Classic Gold teaspoon in 925 sterling silver combines two artisanal techniques in the smallest of spaces: full gold plating that extends into the floral relief engraving on the back of the bowl, and a hand-engraved niello flower inlay in the handle. Together, they create a piece that elevates every tea ceremony quietly but noticeably.

Material and craftsmanship
The bowl, handle, and back of this teaspoon are fully gold-plated—a more elaborate finish than partial gold plating. The back of the bowl features a floral relief engraving with a central blossom, finished entirely in gold and briefly visible when stirring. The handle also features a hand-engraved niello flower inlay: the black inlay is fused into fine engraved lines, leveled, and polished—like ink in silver, permanent, not applied. This creates a triple contrast of high-gloss gold, matte surfaces, and deep black niello, crafted at the SevChern manufactory.

Why is the teaspoon not engravable?
The spoon is fully gold-plated and features a hand-engraved niello inlay in the handle. Additional engraving would damage the gold plating and interfere with the existing design. The niello flower in the handle is the signature of this spoon.
