Description
What makes the "Hop" coffee service in 925 sterling silver so special? It belongs to the iconic works of Russian silversmithing. Refined with fine gilding and niello engraving, it bridges over five decades of craftsmanship history with modern luxury. The collection was created in 1969 by metal artist Elisaveta Fedorovna Tropina — high-contrast niello blackening, brilliantly gilded accents, and floral hop motifs that are still considered one of the most distinctive works of Russian niello art today.

Material and craftsmanship
The body of each piece is drawn from 925 sterling silver, then assembled, finely engraved, and inlaid with black niello paste. After polishing, partial gilding follows, lending warm brilliance to the interior surfaces and accents. In Russian symbolism, hop motifs are considered a sign of prosperity, hospitality, and joie de vivre. Niello is neither paint nor lacquer, but a black inlay that is melted into the engraved lines, sanded flat, and polished — like ink in silver — it does not fade, but gains contrast with polishing.
Usage and occasions
This set is ideal for special moments for two — for coffee ceremonies, festive occasions, or a stylish start to the day. As a representative gift, it is suitable for:
- Anniversaries and weddings — as an enduring piece with symbolic power
- Milestone birthdays — for people with an appreciation for art and tradition
- Business occasions — as a luxurious gift for business partners

Engraving and SilberVerse card
Engraving is only possible to a limited extent, as niello and gilding are delicate. We are happy to check in advance whether the manufactory can carry out an engraving directly during production. Upon request, your gift will also include a poetic SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm photo format — a personal greeting that underscores the significance of this set, designed individually and free of charge for you.
Care
Clean the pieces with gentle hand washing and a soft cloth. You should avoid aggressive cleaners and the dishwasher so that the niello and gilding retain their shine for a long time.
