Coffee service for 6 people 925 silver gold-plated hops

Twenty-one pieces made of 925 sterling silver, gold-plated and finished with niello, make up a complete coffee set for six people. The Hopfen (Hops) coffee service combines fine detailing and hand-engraving with the characteristic deep black of the niello technique and warm gold accents — an ensemble that is equally suited for formal gatherings and cultured enjoyment in a smaller circle.

Material and craftsmanship

The hops motif is one of the most characterful designs in the niello tradition. Every line of the tendrils is engraved into the silver by hand before the niello fills the depressions: a black inlay, melted down, leveled, and polished — like ink in silver, with the typical deep black contrast. Selected areas are subsequently gold-plated so that gold and black highlight one another — not a print, but a permanent bond with the solid 925 sterling silver. All 21 pieces — teapot, sugar bowl, milk jug, six cups with saucers, and six spoons — bear the same ornament, creating a complete, cohesive aesthetic.

Use and occasions

Since the Middle Ages, hops have been considered a symbol of fertility, prosperity, and celebratory spirits. In Slavic tradition, the plant represents festivities, hospitality, and the wish for a good, fulfilling life — a motif that is particularly suitable for occasions where several people come together. The set supports a large coffee table with six complete place settings, as needed for family celebrations, corporate anniversaries, weddings, or festive receptions. As a gift for a couple, a family, or a company, it represents hospitality that one wishes to share and a standard that goes beyond the everyday.

Engraving and SilberVerse card

Custom engraving is possible upon review. Additionally, we can provide a free SilberVerse card in 15 × 10 cm landscape photo format upon request — individually designed to suit the occasion.

Care

Please clean by hand only, using mild dish soap and warm water. No dishwasher and no aggressive cleaning agents. For the silver surfaces, a soft polishing cloth is recommended. The niello ornament is permanently melted in and will not fade; however, the gold plating should be polished with care to preserve the fine contours.
