Coffee and tea saucer 925 silver Niello
Highlight Title
Special properties of products
Description
This 925 sterling silver saucer deliberately eschews any gilding, allowing only the silver and the black niello to speak for themselves. A surrounding band with four small floral corner motifs runs along the edge, while the center remains clear as a polished mirror. A unique piece for the silver collection that works just as well as a complement to existing silver cups as it does as an independent, understated gift.

Material and craftsmanship
The dark pattern on the saucer is not a print, but genuine niello: a sulfur alloy that is melted into engraved grooves and permanently bonded to the silver. The design sits precisely within the engraved lines, resulting in a surface that will neither wash off nor fade. This technique is cultivated at SevChern – the saucer itself is made of 925 sterling silver.
Use and occasions
With a diameter of 109 mm, the saucer is designed for standard coffee and tea cups and can be purchased individually – as a supplement to an existing silver collection or as a standalone gift. A single silver saucer is an unusual present, and that is precisely what makes it special: for those who already appreciate and collect silverware, it is a meaningful addition for a birthday, anniversary, or milestone.
Engraving and SilberVerse card
Upon review, we can add a personal engraving. Upon request, we will also include a SilberVerse card in photo format: 15 × 10 cm in landscape orientation, individually and digitally designed, free of charge.
Care
Clean the saucer with a soft, slightly damp cloth; the dishwasher is strictly off-limits. Silver will tarnish slightly over time – a silver polishing cloth will restore its shine without damaging the niello decoration, as long as it is not rubbed directly on the ornament.
Frequently asked questions
Is the saucer made of genuine silver?
Yes, 925 sterling silver.
Does the saucer match other SevChern products?
It comes from the same niello tradition and harmonizes in design with the manufactory's cups and tea service pieces.
Can I have an engraving added?
Possible upon review – it is best to share your request and text before ordering.
