Material and Workmanship

The conical cezve silhouette has been physically adapted to Turkish mocha since the 16th century: the wide base absorbs maximum heat and transfers it evenly, the narrow neck concentrates the foam crown, the elegant spout cleanly pours the foam into the cup. The horizontally attached long beechwood handle with a silver cuff insulates the hand from the heat of the silver, which itself conducts heat extremely quickly. The Pur variant leaves the engraved lines open — silver-on-silver without filling, a line relief that only becomes visible in the light and up close. Understatement as a luxury, in contrast to the niello sister from the same collection, where the lines are filled with a black alloy.

Care

Hand wash with warm water, a soft brush, and mild pH-neutral soap. Silver can tarnish slightly due to airborne sulfur; a silver polishing cloth will remove this, and the engraved lines will even become more visible when polished. Never immerse the long beechwood handle in water, only wipe it with a damp cloth, keep it dry, and occasionally treat it thinly with walnut oil. Not dishwasher safe.
