The SAKURA collection transfers the aesthetics of Japanese cherry blossoms into the Russian niello technique: blossoming branches entwine around the slender bottle shape, with small birds nestled among them, appearing to fly between the blossoms. The floral motifs are finely engraved, and the sulfide alloy is permanently fused. The gilding on the stopper knob and base highlights individual elements and gives the carafe its warm accent. This combination — Russian niello craftsmanship meets Japanese motif — makes the SAKURA carafe a unique piece in the assortment.

Material and workmanship

With niello, the motif is engraved into the silver, then a sulfide alloy is melted into the depressions – permanently and precisely, not a coating that can come loose. SevChern crafts the carafe without a handle in a narrow, tall bottle shape: D 71 × H 200 mm, a deliberately slender profile that showcases the cherry blossom branches over the entire height. The hallmark on the base confirms the 925 fineness.

Care

Clean the inside of the carafe with lukewarm water, and the outside with a soft, slightly damp cloth. No dishwasher – this preserves the gilding and niello. No silver dip, as this can damage the gilding. For slight tarnishing on silver surfaces: use a silver polishing cloth.
