Care of the Silver Carafe

Clean the inside of the carafe with lukewarm water, and the outside with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use a dishwasher — this will preserve the gilding and niello. Do not use silver dip — it attacks the gilding. For slight tarnishing on silver surfaces: use a silver polishing cloth.
