Children's Cup 925 Sterling Silver Wavy — Royal Childhood, 150 ml

Not every christening gift needs a motif. Sometimes, the form alone is enough to make a silver piece unmistakable. This children's cup made of 925 sterling silver consciously avoids enamel or figurative imagery — instead, a gentle wave relief and a curved Art Nouveau handle carry the entire design, classic and timeless.

Material and Craftsmanship

The shape is the actual design element of this cup: a cylindrical base is accentuated on the lower third by sculptural wave rings that lie gently around the body and can be felt when held. The upper two-thirds remain smoothly polished — room for light and for a possible engraving. The handle is the design highlight: an elegant arch with scroll ornaments at the joints, which cites the Art Nouveau style of the early 20th century. The cup is crafted by ArgentA, a Russian silversmith workshop with a long tradition in baby and children's silver.

Usage and Occasions

This cup is a classic silver christening cup in a premium version, intended for all occasions where quality and timelessness count: for a christening, birth, first birthday, naming ceremony, or later as a godparent gift for First Communion or Confirmation. Because it is designed without a motif, it is equally suitable for girls and boys. For godparents who prefer a classic, elegant cup without a motif, for grandparents who value decorative details, and for parents who are looking for a timeless keepsake that stands on its own in terms of design.

Engraving and SilberVerse Card

The smooth upper two-thirds of the front and back can accommodate engravings — names, birth dates, christening dates, monograms, a short christening verse, or even multi-line dedications and family crests are possible. The engraving is carried out after inspection and personal consultation; we will advise you on placement, font, and text length. On request, we include with your order a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm) — individually designed, matching the occasion, and free of charge.

Care

925 sterling silver is durable. After use, rinse with lukewarm water and mild dish soap and dry with a soft cloth. The wave relief on the lower third and the scroll ornaments on the handle can be gently polished with a soft cloth — do not use abrasives or hard brushes in the profile grooves. Do not put in the dishwasher; do not use silver baths or aggressive cleaning agents. The included gift box or a velvet pouch is suitable for storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the cup not feature a motif?

The shape is deliberately the design: the wave relief and Art Nouveau handle are already design elements. An additional motif would disrupt the lines — at the same time, this keeps the front side clear as a maximum engraving surface for individual dedications.

Can the cup be engraved?

Yes, over a large area. The smooth upper surface of the front and back is available for names, christening dates, monograms, christening verses, or family crests. The engraving is carried out after inspection and personal consultation.

What should I look for in silver for babies?

925 sterling silver consists of 92.5% fine silver and has been used for children's silver for centuries — with a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. Ensure the size is appropriate for the age, only let your child drink from it under supervision, and clean the cup after every use.
