Colors have a language. In heraldry, blue stands for loyalty and steadfastness, yellow for sun and truth, gold for dignity and sovereignty. When reading a coat of arms, one reads not only shapes, but colors. These three colors come together on this children's cup — and the result is not a blatant "boy-blue," but a small color story.

In the center of the front is a star medallion: a large yellow enamel star, topped with a golden crown in gilding, and a small blue star as an accent. Three colors in three depths — sunny yellow, royal blue, royal gold.

Why this particular color combination?

The Königliche Kindheit (Royal Childhood) star line comes in three variations, each telling its own color story:

• This cup: Yellow-Blue. Boy's version — the blue carries the gender accent without falling into the blatant, cliché blue. Yellow-gold as a base warmth.
• Stars Gold (SW10772). The neutral version — only yellow and gold, no gender accent. For girls and boys alike.
• Stars Yellow-Red. Girl's version with a red star instead of blue. Same base, different accent.

The trilogy is deliberately designed to allow for sibling gifts: two children, two accent colors, the same base. One cup for her, one for him — same origin, same signature.

The star as a symbol — what it says

In baptismal symbolism, the star has been a figure of light since early Christianity: the star of Bethlehem, the guiding star, the signpost in the dark. Beyond religious interpretation, it functions universally: "You are my little star." A child welcomed as a guiding figure for the family.

The crown above the star (golden gilding, applied separately) adds a royal accent — it links the cup to the Königliche Kindheit collection and signals: not an ordinary little star, but a small star with status.

The Enamel Work

The star medallion is handmade. The yellow enamel is fired in several layers until the desired color intensity is achieved. Then the finer elements are set — the blue star, the golden crown. Each piece has slight variations in color depth; this is typical of genuine enamel art and not a defect.

The enamel is food-safe and permanently adheres to the silver. With normal care, it will retain its current color intensity for a lifetime.

Engraving — Name on the back

The back is smooth and can be engraved. On this cup with its three colors, the engraving looks best simple and subtle: name and date in a classic font, no ornamental framing needed — the motif on the front is already colorful enough. Upon request, we can include a SilberVerse (poem on photo paper) with the gift.

Shape and Handle
