Description
Some families want to give a christening gift that feels ceremonial without committing to a boy or girl — for example, if several godchildren are to receive the same set. This christening set made of 925 silver does exactly that: a christening spoon with a fully gold-plated guardian angel relief, plus a delicate cross pendant on an off-white cord. No blue, no red — just warm gold luster on polished silver.

Material and workmanship
The guardian angel on the spoon plaque is crafted as a figurative half-relief and is completely gold-plated, while the inside of the bowl remains smoothly polished. On the back, there is the Church Slavonic inscription "Ангелъ за трапезой незримо предстой" — roughly "Angel, be invisibly present at the meal" in German, a traditional Orthodox table invocation. The cross pendant is consecrated; the enclosed consecration certificate contains the baptismal prayer from Matthew 11:28–30 on the inside. The ArgentA manufactory produces this gold-plated variant as a festive alternative to the colored enamel versions.
Occasions and target groups
The classic choice for a christening, if the gift is to appear ceremonial but without color coding. This variant is also a safe choice for godparents and grandparents for siblings who are given identical sets, or if the child's gender is not yet determined at the time of ordering.
Engraving and SilberVerse Card
The back of the christening spoon's handle is smoothly polished and can be engraved — initials, name, or christening date can be added there. The front with the guardian angel relief and the cross pendant remain untouched. For an engraving, we include a free, digitally designed SilberVerse card in photo format 15 × 10 cm landscape.
Care
Clean by hand with warm water and mild detergent, dry with a soft cloth. Do not put in the dishwasher — heat and harsh detergents will damage the gold plating. Only wipe the cord dry. Treat polished silver surfaces with a soft silver polishing cloth, avoiding the gold-plated motif, as the gold layer can become thinner with vigorous polishing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this set suitable for girls or boys?
For both. The gold plating has no color coding and is therefore suitable even if the child's gender is unknown or if several children are to receive the same set.
Is the cross pendant consecrated?
Yes. The enclosed consecration certificate with the baptismal prayer from Matthew 11:28–30 confirms this — the cross can be given directly at the christening.
How does this set differ from the colored variants?
Structure and symbolism are identical, only the finishing changes: This version relies on continuous gold plating instead of colored enamel. The blue variant and the red variant have color coding, while the blackened variant appears darker and more antique.
