Material and craftsmanship

All three pieces share the same material language: 925 sterling silver as the base, niello black inlay as a graphic detail, gilding as a warm accent on the saint figure, prayer border, and cross center. The niello technique is created in a multi-stage process – after silver engraving, the dark melt of silver, copper, lead, and sulfur is filled into the indentations and fired, only then is it polished. Wipe the folding icon with a leather cover only with a dry, soft cloth; do not use water on the leather. Clean the guardian angel spoon by hand with warm water and mild, pH-neutral dish soap – not dishwasher safe, as aggressive tabs can damage the niello inlay. Wipe the cross pendant once or twice a year with a soft cloth; for stronger patina, use a silver polishing cloth, avoiding the niello cross-hatching.
