Material and Workmanship

The bowl of this goblet is treated like a canvas — only round, made of silver, and with depth. Above, the inscription “МОСКВА” in golden Cyrillic script encircles the rim, and below it, the panorama unfolds: the jagged Kremlin wall with its towers, the onion domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, churches and domes that have shaped Moscow's cityscape for centuries. All crafted in fine niello hand-engraving and embedded in floral tendrils that frame the architecture without overpowering it. Golden accents highlight domes and spire tips. Between the bowl and the base, a twisted golden braided band winds as a stem — called "витой" in Russian silversmithing — giving the goblet a dynamism that a straight stem would lack. The base itself features niello cartouches with floral ornamentation and a golden foot ring. The product photo only shows a section of the panorama — the full city view only becomes apparent when the goblet is slowly rotated in the hand.

Use and Occasions

For collectors and museum lovers, a panoramic goblet of this size and detail is a piece that is unparalleled — similar works from the 18th and 19th centuries are found in museums of Russian applied art. For people with a personal connection to Moscow — born there, raised there, or simply connected to this city — this goblet is a memory that weighs heavier than any photo. As a diplomatic or official gift, it reaches a level intended for embassies, consulates, or special business partners. And in a conference room, a library, or a reception room, it is a quiet statement of quality. Together with its Saint Petersburg counterpart, it also forms a pair that connects the two great cities of Russia.

Engraving and SilberVerse Card

An engraving is possible upon request — on the base or on the underside, leaving the panorama on the bowl untouched. Upon request, we can include a personalized SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) — individually designed, suitable for the occasion, and currently free of charge.

Care

Wipe regularly with a soft silver polishing cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaners on the niello surfaces. Store in the gift box when the goblet is not on display.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does the panorama show?

The skyline of Moscow as a surrounding 360-degree panorama: Kremlin walls and towers, St. Basil's Cathedral with its onion domes, churches and domes. The product photo shows only a section — the full view becomes apparent when the goblet is rotated.

Is the goblet also available with Saint Petersburg?

Yes — the Saint Petersburg magnificent goblet shows the Petersburg panorama in the same form, weight, and technique. Together, both form a pair that unites the two capitals of Russia.

Can one drink from the goblet?

Technically yes — 925 silver and the internal gilding are food-safe. However, with 1150 ml and approx. 817 g, this goblet is primarily a display and collector's item.
