Material and workmanship
The bowl and handle of this teaspoon are fully gold-plated, resting in the hand with a warm, uniform golden sheen. At the lower end of the handle, just before the edge, sits a panel with a floral niello engraving: a stylized blossom, framed by two curved leaf shapes, engraved in fine lines and filled with black niello. This black inlay is melted by hand into the engraved lines, ground flush, and polished – like ink in silver, permanent, not painted on. This creates the characteristic contrast between gold and black, which makes this spoon more than an ordinary piece of cutlery.
Usage and occasions
Whether for a 50th birthday, a wedding, or as an original gift – this silver teaspoon is a gift of lasting value. It is suitable for festive occasions as well as a personal gesture of appreciation and is delivered in a high-quality gift case, ready for presentation. Upon request, we can include a personal SilberVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm) – individually designed, appropriate for the occasion, and free of charge.
Care
Clean the spoon by hand with lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using the dishwasher and silver dip baths to protect the gilding and the niello ornament.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is engraving possible on this teaspoon?
Contact us before ordering – we will work with you and the manufacturer to determine whether and where a personal engraving can be placed.
What is niello, and how does it differ from gilding?
Niello is a black inlay that is melted into engraved lines, ground flush, and polished – like ink in silver – permanent, not painted on. Gilding is a gold plating applied to the polished 925 silver. Both techniques together create the characteristic contrast.
Is the spoon delivered in a gift box?
Yes, the teaspoon is delivered in a high-quality gift case and is ready to be gifted immediately.
