Gold-plated Christ in the medallion
Description
Typical christening gifts are quickly listed; a gift with a sacred image is rarer. This christening set in 925 silver carries Christ Pantocrator gold-plated in the medallion. A consecrated cross lies with it in the case.

Show selectionGold-plated image, light silver
In the medallion Christ holds a book, with the letters IC XC beside him. The image is gold-plated. The frame with its small crown and the handle with tendrils stay silver.
The spoon weighs approx. 14 g and is 113 mm long, 25 mm wide and 10 mm high. The cross is approx. 20 mm and approx. 1 g. The pieces make approx. 15 g of silver.
The image in detail
The Pantocrator is shown as a half figure, with the book resting in his hand. The gold plating lies on the figure. The frame and handle therefore stay calm, and the eye goes to the centre.
The image can be explained in one sentence: Christ as Lord of all things, as the Eastern Church venerates him.
Prayer and border on the back
The back of the medallion shows five lines of Church Slavonic, worked in relief. It is the Jesus Prayer. On the back the spoon carries a tendril border around a mirror-smooth central field.
Engraving and cord
You can have the back of the handle under the medallion engraved, with 10 to 12 characters. To do so, choose the engraving service in addition and give the name when ordering under “order note at checkout”.
A white cord comes with the cross. It is missing in the photos. Instead of white, you can choose blue or pink on request. You tell us that in the “order note at checkout” too, as there is room there for special requests.
Christening gifts: what goes with it
Silver spoon, cross, candle and name jewellery are the usual gifts. With this set you give two of them at once. Both are consecrated, and the parish’s certificate is enclosed.
With this set, givers do not have to choose between cross and spoon. Both lie together in the case.
Consecration by the parish
In this set the spoon and cross are consecrated by the Svyato-Pokrovsky Church of Kolchugino, that is, by its Orthodox parish. No promise of protection lies in it.
The same set in dark
The christening set Pantocrator blackened looks darker. The Our Lady of Kazan gold-plated is of the same construction. Matching gifts are gathered in the category Orthodox gifts.
Gold-plated Pantocrator: what godparents look for
What do the letters IC XC mean?
They are the Greek abbreviation for “Jesus Christ”. In the Eastern Church they appear on almost every icon of Christ.
How do I care for gold-plated parts?
Treat them like silver: lukewarm water, soft cloth and never the dishwasher.
Who clarifies the details of the engraving?
We get in touch with you after your order. If it cannot be done, you get the flat fee back.
