Description

Some objects are made for a grand entrance, others for an intimate tête-à-tête. This Turkish coffee pot made of 925 sterling silver belongs to the latter category. The Rosata Cezve holds exactly what two people need: two Turkish mocha cups, a shared morning without haste. Its name comes from Latin — rosata, rose-colored, blooming — and follows the main motif: a stylized floral rosette that unfolds in the upper belly, in pure silver engraving without color inlay.

Material and Workmanship

The Rosata follows the classic amphora silhouette: wide in the middle, narrowing towards the bottom and top, with a round foot ring and an elegant silver spout. The wide belly stores heat evenly, and the narrow neck concentrates the foam. In pure engraving, the ornament is directly incised into the silver — silver against silver, without inlay. The result is fine, subtle, and particularly visible in the light: Depending on the angle, the contours of the floral rosette dance on the silver background. The beechwood long handle with a silver cuff at the transition protects the hand from the heat and rests securely in the hand when the pot is swirled over the flame.

Use and Occasions

The Rosata is designed for intimate tête-à-têtes, not for large gatherings. 200 ml is enough for one to two Turkish mocha cups of 60–70 ml each — in Turkish, a pot of this size is also called a "2-lük", the two-person pot. Suitable heat sources are gas flame, ceramic hob, and hot sand; induction is not suitable as 925 silver is not ferromagnetic. As a gift, the Rosata suits occasions where intimacy and style meet: engagement, Valentine's Day, anniversary, or a milestone birthday.

Engraving and SilverVerse Card

The Rosata Cezve can be personalized with a name engraving — initials, a full name, a date, or a short dedication, custom-made on request. Upon request, we can include a personal SilverVerse card in photo format (15 × 10 cm landscape) — individually designed, suitable for the occasion, currently free of charge.

Care

After use, rinse with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, no dish soap, no dishwasher. Keep the wooden handle dry, do not soak, wipe briefly and dry immediately. If necessary, sparingly oil with walnut oil. The silver develops a slight tarnish layer over time, which can always be removed with a silver polishing cloth. An effect of the pure engraving: when polishing, the engraved lines are not worn away but become more visible.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cups does the 200 ml Rosata Cezve serve?
1 to 2 Turkish mocha cups of 60–70 ml each. In Turkish, a 200 ml Cezve is also called "2-lük" — the two-person pot.

What is the difference between pure engraving and niello?
With pure engraving, the ornament remains in silver, monochromatic and serene. With niello, the engraved depressions are filled with a black silver-sulfur alloy, creating a strong light-dark contrast. Both techniques have their own character.

Can I use the Rosata Cezve on an induction hob?
No. 925 sterling silver is not a ferromagnetic material. Gas, ceramic hob, and electric hotplates are suitable.
