Christening Set Saint Nicholas 925 Silver Gold-Plated — Spoon + Cross Pendant, Consecrated

A silver spoon for the christening that shows the name saint: that is exactly what this christening set is. In the medallion stands Saint Nicholas, and his image is gold-plated. A consecrated cross lies with it in the case.

Gold-plated medallion, silver handle

The image in the medallion is gold-plated. The saint wears a halo and holds a book. The medallion is topped by a small crown. Tendrils run along the light handle.

The spoon measures 113 × 25 × 10 mm and weighs approx. 13 g. The cross is approx. 20 mm in size and approx. 1 g in weight. Together the two carry approx. 14 g of silver.

Consecrated, with a certificate

Consecrated by the Orthodox Pokrovsky parish in Kolchugino (Svyato-Pokrovsky Church): that is how both pieces come to you. A certificate goes with them. It is a church custom and not a promise.

Light and festive: the gold-plated version

Next to the blackened version, this set looks lighter. The gold-plated image stands out from the silver frame, and the tendrils on the handle stay light and calm.

In the yellow-orange “Royal Childhood” case the spoon and cross rest, with a white satin bow on the handle. That way you can hand over the set without any further packaging.

The back of the medallion

If you turn the spoon over, the medallion shows a saying in relief. Four lines of Church Slavonic invoke Saint Nicholas. The back of the bowl is decorated with a fine tendril border.

Silver spoon and name day

The godparent traditionally gives it with the wish that the child may lack for nothing. The saying about the silver spoon also means this good fortune. You can read more about it in the guide.

A spoon with the saint on it is also a sign for the name day. Later it reminds the child of the saint whose name he or she bears.

A name on the handle

Under the medallion the handle is smooth at the back. There is room here for 10 to 12 characters. You add the engraving service to your cart as well. You enter your engraving wish in the “order note at checkout” field.

The cross and medallion are not engraved.

The cord on the cross

A white cord belongs with the cross, in blue or pink on request. The cord is missing in the photos; it comes with the set. If you would like blue or pink, note it in the “order note at checkout” field of the order.

Other versions of the Saint Nicholas series

The christening set blackened Saint Nicholas looks darker. The series also includes Our Lady of Kazan gold-plated and Christ Pantocrator gold-plated.
