Silver and porcelain tea cup: white and set in blossoms
The case contains one cup; neither saucer nor spoon is included. The porcelain is gently waved, three feet on a leaf base carry the setting, and a volute sweeps out to form the handle.
The porcelain is bone china from the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg. The line is called Symphonie at the manufacturer. The silver setting is made by ArgentA.
Large blossoms, leafy tendrils and a beaded rim
Large blossoms and leafy tendrils embrace the cup, and the setting is openwork. A beaded rim edges the base ring and the handle, and the white porcelain remains visible between the silver.
The openwork setting is cast and polished by hand on the blossoms and tendrils. Between the leaves, the silver is set off in a dark tone; that is the blackened finish: a surface treatment, not paint.
