Christening Set Angel 925 Silver Blackened — Spoon + Cross Pendant, Consecrated

What do godparents give when they do not want the usual? This christening set in 925 silver has a seated angel as a figure on the spoon handle. A consecrated cross lies with it in the case.

One set instead of two separate gifts

The spoon and cross lie together in the case and are consecrated. So you give two things in one package.

That way you do not have to combine anything. Both pieces match in material and style, and the bow on the handle turns the case into a ready-made gift.

The angel on the handle and its finish

The angel sits as a sculpted figure at the upper end of the handle. Below him follow a moon, a few stars and a heart. The silver is blackened on the surface; the recesses look dark, while the raised areas stay light.

Dimensions of the spoon: 113 × 26 × 10 mm, weight approx. 15 g. At approx. 20 mm in size, the cross weighs approx. 1 g, and the set comes to approx. 16 g of silver.

Cross with cord

The cross follows the Orthodox form with trefoil ends and a corpus. An eyelet sits at the top. A white cord is included. If you prefer blue or pink, note that in the “order note at checkout” before paying. The photos show the cross without a cord.

Consecrated by the parish in Kolchugino

Both pieces are consecrated, by the Orthodox parish in Kolchugino, which belongs to the Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin (Svyato-Pokrovsky). A certificate confirms it and is included in the set. No promise of protection is attached to it.

Adding names and wishes personally

The back of the handle is decorated, so engraving is not possible. As a personal extra we recommend the SilberVerse card, a verse for the occasion and the name in a size of 15 × 10 cm, free of charge on request.

Moon, stars and heart: what the motifs tell

Moon and stars stand for the night, the heart for affection. That is how we read the images.

Caring for the blackened surface

Clean the silver by hand in lukewarm water like any other. Dry it with a soft cloth. A silver polishing cloth does no harm: on the light, raised areas you can polish as usual, and over the dark recesses a gentle stroke is enough. A dishwasher is unsuitable for the set.

The same angel in other versions

With gold-plated details on the halo, moon, heart and some of the stars, there is the christening set partly gold-plated angel. The spoon on its own is called the baby spoon blackened angel. A guardian angel in relief follows with the set in light blue.

Blackened angel christening set: what godparents often ask

What are typical gifts for a christening?
Popular choices are silver spoons, christening crosses, candles and jewellery with a name. A set of spoon and cross combines two classics at once.

Why is the spoon blackened?
The recesses are dark, while the raised areas stay light. This makes the relief stand out. It is not lacquer and not paint; the silver is cared for like any other.

Is the case already the gift packaging?
Yes. At approx. 78 × 188 × 40 mm the case is handy in size; in the original it may differ from the photo.
