Material and Workmanship

The dish rests on a slender foot, its interior completely high-gloss gilded – a warm, elegant surface for salt, spices, or honey. The exterior is matted and features a continuous niello floral band with fully gilded accent blossoms, while the upper rim and foot ring are also gilded. The accompanying mini spoon, at 80 mm, is the smallest in its collection: the round bowl is gilded and features a hand-engraved niello flower with enamel accents, the matted handle concludes with another niello floral cluster, and the reverse side is fully gilded. Both pieces originate from the same SevChern manufactory and bear the original hallmark as proof of authenticity.

Use and Occasions

With a 30 ml capacity, the dish is designed for individual portions: sea salt or fleur de sel for seasoning at the table, a spice blend during cooking, a spoon of honey for tea, or jam for breakfast.
