Material and Workmanship

All three pieces originate from the SevChern manufactory in Veliky Ustyug, Northern Russia, a center of niello silver art with a documented tradition since 1683. The floral ornament – multi-petal blossom shapes, encircling leaf tendrils – is identically crafted on all three pieces: melted black into the polished silver, flush with the surface, no applied coating or layer. On the tray, the ornament runs only along the edge; the center remains smoothly polished to ensure the shakers stand securely. All pieces bear the hallmark as proof of 925 sterling silver.
