Description
A miniature composition capturing Russian tea culture in silver and gold: the decorative samovar with cups and tray made of 925 silver is gilded and adorned with floral enamel in blue and gold. Not a utilitarian object, but a display piece that summarizes the imagery of the Russian tea ritual in a small, artistic ensemble.
At a Glance
- Material: 925 sterling silver, gilded
- Decoration: floral enamel in blue and gold
- Components: mini samovar, two teacups with saucers, one tray
Material and Workmanship
The composition consists of 925 sterling silver and is gilded on the handles, faucet, and other details. The body of the samovar, cups, and tray features a floral ornament in vibrant blue and gold – an enamel decoration that gives the ensemble its characteristic, festive coloration. The faucet on the mini samovar is designed as an ornamental element and serves the visual composition, not actual pouring. The cups are small in size and, like the tray, are part of a coordinated ensemble in terms of form, hue, and ornamentation.
Use and Occasions
This composition is intended as a decorative ensemble – for display cabinets, sideboard shelves, desks, or collector's displays. It is suitable for lovers of Russian tea culture who wish to have the image of this tradition as an ensemble in their space, as well as for collectors of Russian silver. The mini composition is also a special choice as a prestigious gift for a significant occasion – a major anniversary or as a gift for someone who already collects Russian silverware.
Care
The composition is primarily a display item. For care, it is generally sufficient to remove dust with a dry, soft cotton or microfiber cloth. For heavier tarnish on the non-gilded silver surfaces, a high-quality silver polish can be used – on gilded and enameled areas, only a dry cloth without polish should be used, as silver polish can damage gilding and enamel. Water, dish soap, and dishwashers are not suitable for this piece.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I heat water with this samovar?
No. The composition is a decorative ensemble, not a functional utensil. The mini samovar is not intended for heating or pouring water; the faucet is an ornamental element. If you are looking for a functional tea set made of 925 silver, you will find suitable alternatives in the silverware category.
What is the decoration of the set made of?
The samovar, cups, and tray feature a floral enamel decoration in blue and gold, which gives the ensemble its characteristic coloration. Gilded accents on handles and details complement the color scheme.
How many pieces are included in the composition?
The ensemble includes a mini samovar, two teacups with matching saucers, and a tray as a shared base.
