Material and Workmanship
The keychain features a round medallion with a stylized dragon head in niello inlay, polished on both sides and attached to a classic key ring with a delicate silver chain — robust for daily use on a keychain. The teaspoon has a classically curved handle with an oval finial; the dragon's body winds around the end of the handle as a niello motif, each scale meticulously crafted, the bowl highly polished for daily use.
What you see on both pieces is genuine niello inlay: black sulfur-silver compound, fused into engraved silver, filed flat, and polished. The black sits flush with the silver, deep and shiny like fresh ink on paper — and just as durable as the silver itself. This niello tradition from Veliky Ustyug has been documented in writing since 1683; the SevChern manufactory continues it to this day. Unlike a superficial patination, niello is an inlay, not an applied effect — the dragon on the set thus stands out with corresponding durability and contrast.

Clean keychains and spoons only by hand with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth; never put them in the dishwasher. If the silver surfaces tarnish, a soft silver polishing cloth without abrasive grains will restore the shine without affecting the niello. After use, wipe dry and store in the case, which protects against air contact and delays natural tarnishing.
